Chapter 4: "Stoke Up the Magic"

Thomas,Percy and CC rushed to Muffle Mountain as fast as they could.It was a steep climb,and the two little engines panted as they went.The little boy aboard Percy worked hard keeping his firebox burning to a good temperature.At last,they entered The Workshop.Lady,still faceless,Burnet Stone,and Mr Conductor were already there.
"Good job CC!"said CC's uncle,Mr Conductor.
"Okay,if we don't hurry,the Magic Railroad'll vanish.Give me the coal."said Burnett,and he stoked up the pink engine's firebox with fresh Sodor Coal.Soon,a nice lot of steam was puffing out of Lady's funnel,and her fire burned brightly.

Soon,with Burnett and Mr Conductor aboard,they set off,followed by Thomas,Percy,and CC.They rushed down the hill,and were just heading for the last magic buffers when...

VROOM!Vroom!
Diesel 10,followed closely by Clipper,roared down the track,and were just about to smash the Magic Buffers!CC gasped,and without thinking,grabbed a lump of coal,and tossed it at the junction switch.
CLUNK!
The points diverted Diesel 10 and Clipper just in time.Diesel 10 stayed on the rails,but Clipper's light-weight body flew off the track,and landed with a "THUMP" in a pile of coal just beyond.
"Ouch!"he cried,muffled under the piles of coal around him.
"I wasn't trustful of you anyway Clippy,I don't need any gay sidekicks followin' my tail!"Diesel 10 said,not even taking pity on Clipper's crash.The orange diesel's reply was blocked by the coal covering it.

Diesel 10's rear cab lurched,and with his engine roaring,Diesel 10 backed down to the buffers.He tried to use Pinchy to switch the track,but his claw couldn't extend far enough.He swore,shook Pinchy,and reversed further on.He then realised that Percy,Lady and Thomas were nowhere to be seen.

As Lady's wheels began to spin faster,her face reformed.
"She's back!"smiled Percy.
"Yes!"cried CC,punching the air and jumping.
"We're not done just yet.We've got to find a way to get Lady to the last portal,without being caught by Diesel 10."Thomas ventured.Then,CC had an idea.He whispered it to everyone aboard.
"It's a weak spot,but we've got to get the Magic Railroad runnin' again."Burnett said grimly,so they headed off to Callan Station,to put the plan in place.

Douglas was there,readying some old,rusty trucks for the Scrapyard.He was just about to pull them away,when Thomas,Percy,and Lady showed up.
"Och!Tommy me boy,is this the magic engine ye've never stopped talkun aboot?"teased Douglas.Thomas scowled,and shushed him.He told Douglas the plan.
"Weel,ah need to get reed of these joonks anywah,and ye know how mooch it casts to get a heap in."and Douglas pulled half of the trucks off the train.Then,Thomas arranged Lady in between,and Douglas shunted the seperated ones back in.
"Thank you Douglas."said Lady kindly.
"Dinnae mind et,hurry!We've got noo tahme te waste!"Douglas hauled his train away,followed by the two tank engines.

Douglas uncoupled the trucks,and ran onto a junction.Once the train was in front of him,he coupled to the brake van.The rails leading from Muffle Junction to the Magic Buffers come down a steep hill,and Diesel 10 was sitting on the siding coming off the tracks leading to them.He was keeping guard.
"But,Douglas,"asked Thomas."Wouldn't you want to see the beauty of the Magic Railway?"
"Naw,"answered Douglas."Mah home's 'ere.Noo,right Lady,ye're gooin home!"and Douglas gave the trucks a shunt.Lady whistled in thanks,and the long line of trucks rushed down the hill,powered by momentum and Lady.

"What in the?"asked Diesel 10,as the trucks roared past,with Lady in the middle!
"How did she?Aw fudge it!"and once the trucks passed,he ran onto the points,in attempt to block Thomas,Percy,and the Conductor family.
"CHARGE!"shouted CC,and as they all shouted and jeered,with Percy in front,they glanced Diesel 10 on his side,where he somersaulted onto a wooden trailer wagon,which instantly broke beneath him.
"You know,"said Clipper."We're alone now..."
"Shut the feck up you gay faggot!"Diesel 10 snapped,and Clipper went quiet.

Meanwhile,on the Magic Railroad,Lady and the trucks rolled on the rails.The vines vanished,the rails straightened,and beamed a bright gold.The mountains reappeared,and gold dust and flower petals flew all around,once again.The rust on the trucks vanished,they instantly held back together,good as new.Thomas and Percy whistled.
"It's good to see her back!"Thomas called.
"Thomas likes Lady!Thomas likes Lady!"teased Percy.
"Oh,shut up!"Thomas scowled,and they headed on.
